ARFC set to kick-off it's 50th season
As September approaches, the Abbotsford Rugby Football Club is set to kick-off it's 50th season. This season will see co-ed mini rugby, youth boys and girls teams, seniors mens and women, as well as the Old Boys all taking the field. Throughout the season, we will be looking back at a phenominal 50 years of rugby in Abbotsford. A number of great events will start the season off included the Hall of Fame night on September 17th, followed by our senior men and women's team home openers on October 1st, and then the famous Gobbler tournament October 8-9th.As well, vintage gear will be available for sale throughout the year.
Practices times for all teams are as follows
- Girls: 6:00 - 7:30 pm (Monday/Wednesday) @ Delair
- Boys: 5:00 - 6:30 pm (Tuesday/Thursday) @ Delair
- Senior Men: 6:30 - 8:00 pm (Tuesday/Thursday) @ Delair
- Women: 6:30 - 8:00 pm (Tuesday/Thursday) @ Delair

Abbotsford Youth rugby players selected to provincial teams
Many of our youth players have been selected for Team BC at the various age groups of both boys' and girls' teams. Of course, it is user pay for the programs so the kids have to come up with some money. A few will have a difficult time with this so we are trying to rally our members to help out. Time is an issue as they need to have the money in pretty quick.
Here is what we are doing:
July 16th - Burger and Beer Night $20 with all proceeds (including bar) to the youth. This will follow our ARFC Annual Golf Tourney at Valley Golf. The golf tourney is $24 for 9 holes best ball format - no experience necessary. At this event we will be selling squares for $10 each. Half to winner and half to the players. We will also have a toonie toss for some bottles. If you cannot make the event, we are also looking for people to just be sponsors. Help the kids fund!

2020 Rugby Re-Start
The 2020 season at the ARFC has been unlike any other. Our season was cut short in March due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. All games, practices, and social activities were halted and rugby has been paused until now.
In the 2020-2021 season we now are returning to rugby in a safe, fun, and new way. We are offering modified rugby for youth and senior members until December 2020 when we will get new instructions from Rugby Canada and BC Rugby on what we can and cannot offer. ARFC Bylaw Amendments - 2020
The Abbotsford Rugby Football Club board proposes the following amendments to the bylaws. These will be voted on by the membership at the 2020 Annual General Meeting of members to be held on June 4th at 7pm by Zoom.
