BC Rugby Vaccination Policy
BC Rugby has introduced a mandatory vaccination policy for all players aged 12+. All players must be double vaccinated by Oct. 27th. Please contact your local team representative for more information on how to provide proof of vaccination. Below is the link to BCRU policy.

2021 Rugby Re-Start
Rugby in British Columbia has returned! Our COVID-19 safety protocols and sanctioning through BC Rugby are still in place to keep our members safe. We are excited to get back to contact rugby this season.
The following programs are being offered during Fall 2021:
Youth Boys - U15, U17, U19: Tuesday/Thursday TBD
Youth Girls - U14, U16, U19: Monday/Wednesday TBD
Senior Rugby (Men-Division 1,2,3 and Women -Division 1): Tuesday/Thursday 6:30pm (Delair)

Each year we invite local businesses an opportunity to sponsor our club. Sponsorship is criticalto our club’s success. We rely on these funds for a variety of reasons, some of which include:
- Field and facility maintenance
- Purchasing equipment and jerseys
- Paying our local coaches, referees and officials (many of whom are high school studentsgetting their first work opportunity)
- Keeping league dues and insurance costs affordable for families, as well as offering specialassistance to low-income families
- Travel expenses

New Moms Reflect on How Club Rugby Empowers Them and Can Inspire The Next Generation
“I am the person I am because of Rugby. I hope my children can look up to me as an athlete and be inspired.”
Abbotsford RFC’s Senior Women’s Team has been hard at work this Fall, taking BC Rugby’s Mainland Division 2 League by storm. Among the roster of both rookie and seasoned athletes are five new moms, who have all welcomed additions to their families in the last two years.
During practice, they can be seen sweating on the pitch while running back and forth to the sidelines to check on their napping infants in carriers. Changerooms are a flutter of activity before matches, as feedings take place amongst the usual pre-game huddles. Babysitting is the norm in the stands as the athletes contest scrums and rush the try line.
Sonya, Jerusha, Kayt, Steph and Elyssa have taken on the difficult feat of multitasking motherhood and their passion for Rugby, but they have been instrumental on the team for their skills and experience, as well as their collective inspirations as mothers and upstanding members of our community.
For a team that is heavily comprised of young athletes fresh off the High School Rugby scene, the new moms exemplify how to push past boundaries and prove that anyone can continue to follow their passion for sport; no matter what stage of life you are in.
As Abbotsford RFC celebrates its 50th Anniversary season this Fall, it’s more apparent than ever that the Club is not just a family but harbors a family environment.
