A message from our fundraising coordinator, Beck Foreman:
GuardTeck has offered to come to the clubhouse on Thursday, May 2 (after training) to the paperwork for 90 day temporary security licenses. A number of us did this last year, but due to a paperwork snafu, the license applications were never submitted. This means that everyone who did the application last year, can do it again this year (as normally, you can only do a temp license once). There will be a number of events throughout the summer where we will be asked to help with security and raise money for the rugby club, such as concerts and festivals, etc. This will cost us nothing but a little but of time, so the more we get out and get licensed, the better it is for us! Also, depending on how much funds we raise, there will likely be some reduction in dues for the 2019/20 season (for those who volunteer).
The security volunteering is separate from Rockin' River this yer, as we have an opportunity to bartend in Merritt, and potentially make a significant amount of money for the club. I still need several more volunteers for this too. It is a fun weekend (despite the country music), and is open to club members, spouses, friends, etc. All you need is your Serving it Right certificate (or equivalent from another province), and be available for August 1 - 4 (bartending Thursday to Sunday). Again, the more people we get, the more we can spread out the shifts. We get weekend wristbands, free camping, access to showers, and all the hillbilly music your ears can handle.
Please let me know if you can make it to the licensing session, and/o are interestedin heading up to Merritt.
