Congratulations to five ARFC products who have been selected to represent Canada at the Dubai sevens kicking off Dec 1 in the United Arab Emirates. Bateman grad and circuit veteran Justin Douglas will suit up for the Canadian men’s squad. The speedy finisher is coming off a fantastic season last year after earning 3rd in the world for tries on the sevens circuit with 40 in 10 tourneys behind USA’s Perry Baker (57) and England’s Dan Norton (51).
Abby Sr. product Tausani Levale earns the honour of becoming the first ARFC female selected to the Canadian senior women’s sevens team. The young playmaker incredibly just turned 18 in October and has evidently made an impression with coach Tait and selectors as she earns a spot on the 12 player roster. The women start Nov 30 in Dubai vs. Spain.
Suiting up for the Canada Maple Leafs are Bateman grads and RC centralized players Jared Douglas and Jake Thiel. Clayton Meeres, a Sardis grad and former ARFC player, has also been selected for the team. These hopefuls will be looking to make an impression with selectors and eventually earn a spot on the national team roster. The Maple Leafs also kick off Dec 1 in Dubai.
Good luck to our ARFC players and all the Canadian teams in Dubai!
