Fraser Valley U-17 Beats Canada U-17 by a score of 19-18!
Abbotsford players scored 14 of the 19 points in the win for the Valley over the U-17 Canada development squad touring BC. Despite Canada opening in the scoring with a try in the corner, the Valley squad was able to come back and secure the win in a high energy, hotly contested battle. Christian Styles (Yale) and Justin Douglas (Bateman) each scored a try with Tyson Appeldoorn (Mouat) adding 2 converts. Riley Locker (Bayside) also scored a try in the game.

Twelve Abbotsford players have been named to the Fraser Valley U-17 squad that has been chosen to play against Rugby Canada U17 Development XV at South Surrey Athletic Park, Sunday January 31st, KO 12.15pm.
The squad contains a number of the 2009 BC U16 Team, namely Tyson Appledoorn, Tyler Barons, Jorden Best, Michael Bouchard, Justin Douglas, Darren Levasseur, Ryan March, Brody Quirk and Christian Styles. Out of this group, Barons, Best, Bouchard, Douglas, March and Styles were each selected for the recent Rugby Canada U17 Tour to San Diego along with Riley Locker from Ferndale Collegiate and Bayside RFC.
This is the first of three games for the Rugby Canada Development XV. The group will play further matches against the VIRU U17s at Shawnigan Lake on Wednesday February 3rd and against the VRU U17s in North Vancouver on Saturday February 6th.
